Facts: I use Chevron gas. I have changed the fuel filter with no better response. Infrequently, when I start off it will stall. At most other times it likes it when I depress the accelerator very slowly. If I depress the accelerator quickly or to gain speed it will buck and sound like it is back firing but more like engine bucking. If I back off on the gas pedal it will very slowly gain speed and RPMs. It is an Automatic Trans. but if I start off in 1st and shift manually and keep the RPMs up around 2000 it will function better. If I drive in full automatic, it will not like to accelerate without hesitating and bucking like it wants to stall, until the RPMs get up to at least 2000 in each gear, which as you know is not possible with the trans in full automatic unless you downshift, which I have to do.
Another big factor is when I accelerate it will want to stall but recovers slowly when I back off on the pedal and barely depress the accelerator pedal.
I think it is somehow Vacuum related. Where to start and what to do in chronological and diagnostic order?.
