Hi, the vehicle hesitate while accelerating. I scanned the vehicle, the only code found was P0778 (pressure control solenoid B). I drained out the transmission oil and loosen all the necessary bolts for me to access the solenoids. The oil was smelling like burnt oil. I removed the connector to the solenoid and tested each of the solenoid using battery (I don't know the exact solenoid), they seems to function well mechanically (coming in and out). I fasten all the loosen bolts, replaced the transmission oil and test drive the vehicle but there was no improvement, the problem persist, LoL. What else could I do?
The way I tested the solenoid, is it the best way to tested?

Hello, I'm Danny.

Here are repair guides to properly test the entire system relating to the code P0778. Just applying voltage to the solenoid doesn't ensure that is the problem. Those solenoids are controlled by the ECM- engine control module as well. I've attached the picture diagnostic steps below for your car. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again.

Unfortunately, we don't have that type of a reference in our guides. That would be information that only Toyota or the transmission manufacturer could provide. Sorry. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Good morning, sir. I mean road test rest on the transmission indicating the speed at which the transmission has to shift into different gears.

Hi,

I don't ever remember seeing something that provides a speed for an automatic to shift. There are many variables that cause it to shift at different speeds.

I will ask the site owner to see if he has heard of one.

Thank you, sir.
Sir, if you refer to the first diagram it was saying something like automatic shift schedule. I don't know if you have that sir.

Hi,

I'm sorry. I don't have the shift schedule. I never remember seeing one in the past. As far as the transmission, it is a U241E, a 4-speed automatic transmission.

If you look at the attachment below, that is the only reference I have for shift points/schedules.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
