Hi I have a problem with my heater it seems to be heating up but not as hot as it should be ill have it on the highest setting and i never turn it down. I used to have to or it would get so hot in the interior i would be sweating. The vent dont seem to be pushing hardly any air as well. middle two do just barely but outer two hardly feel anything. I think it could be a multiple issues I just changed out a water pump and when i refilled i didnt dilute the solution thinking it was already premixed 50/50. So i drained out what about half the system holds and then added water. I also hear it could be a air trapped in the heater core.but then why hardly any air being pushed out of the vents what are some things I should check or replace. Thanks for any help

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch. If they are both hot, the heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not.

Thanks wrenchtech I checked both hoses are heating up when at operating temp. While it was warming up I checked to see if it had a cabin air filter I thought if its warming up and not pushing much air then that could be why. I didnt find one I looked in the glovebox and then under the hood by the windshield wiper motor its a 2007 dodge nitro which am hearing that some have them and some dont. Do you know if they do.I suppose if its not that then i suspect its the blend doot actuator your speaking of.Thanks again!
