Welcome to 2CarPros.

Without AC, it's straight forward, but if the AC is operational, it will take much longer. You will need to evacuate and recharge the system. Just for example, without ac, labor is 1.3 hours. With AC it is 2.8.

I looked through all manuals and can't find anything specific for that model year because of its age. However, here is a link that explains in general how one is replaced. I hope it helps.

My car is 1977. I was told that most of the work is under the dash and the the right inner wheel well has to be taken down to gain access to the outer bolts.

Welcome back:

That sounds correct. The heater core is in the heater box which is removed from the inside of the vehicle. It's behind the glove box if I recall. I'm really sorry, but it's been a long time since I worked on one of these. However, I don't recall them ever being that bad.

I did try to find the directions, but nothing is available.

Please feel free to ask questions if you run into trouble. I'll do my best to help.

Take care,
Joe
