clicking noise in the heater switch when turned from blue to red

everytime I turn the dial from the blue to the red on the heater switch there is a clicking noise under the dash and no heat comes out just cold air. but, the heater core is good radiators good everything else is okay. just that clicking noise under the dash when you turn the knob from blue to red.
