I just bought the car last week and I was told it only needed a blower so I had one installed. heat only comes from the defrost and for most of the time it is colder on driver side while the passenger side is normal. the weird thing is if I put the A/C on it blows somewhat out of the front vents not one hundred percent but a lot more than the heat! I should also mention that I had to change the battery and when I did that it tripped something and the alarm would not shut off had to have Lexus change the door actuator.

Good morning.

Did Lexus resolve the air flow issue with the actuators? do you still have the same issue?

They did not want to give me a guess they wanted $185.00 an hour to take apart dash to test the actuators they estimated three hours to do it. I refused.

Okay, sounds like a dealer.

The actuators could definitely be the issue. if the doors are not changing as commanded, this will result.

try this. remove the fuse for the HVAC system and wait ten minutes. then reinstall the fuse and turn the key to the on position. wait one minute before starting. that calibrates the actuators and see if that made any difference.

Sorry was traveling yesterday.

You need a advanced scan tool to monitor the AC system to see if commands are sent to the actuators to verify. It is not as easy as checking wires anymore. you need to see commands from the system and see if that command is getting to the actuators.

That is why the dealer wanted that much money. you do not need a dealer for this repair at all. a shop with an advanced scan tool can perform this check without charging you $185.00 per hour.

Do you or can you get a scan tool that can read the data from the AC?
