Headlight went out when just running lights on they would blink then would stop when turned on, but the one on driver side was out. So I bought new one at part store they put in for me was a lot brighter when on. However, when off the running lights were still blinking. Took to a mechanic had two new headlights put in along with two new sockets (pig tales). Worked fine for a day now it is worse than it was. The lights are so dim I cannot see the road and when on bright only the driver's side works and when just the running lights blinking again. Please help.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.com. If the lights are dim, chances are there is a problem with the ground. I have attached a wiring schematic for your review. If you notice, there is a black wire in the bundle (wiring at light) which is the ground. If you look at the second picture I attached, find G107 which will be located under the hood on the driver's side inner fender. Remove the blow which holds it in place and check the wiring for damage, corrosion.

Keep in mind, if the new sockets were not properly installed, the ground may be at fault where the new wiring was attached to the old. Check that too.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
