headlight issues

I have a 2008 Pontiac g6 GT with day time running lights. The driver side headlight went out i bought an pair the brighter kind sometimes works it will turn on sometimes and other times you have to tap the headlight im wondering should i replace them with oem parts or do i have an electrical problem

re check the connector on the back of the headlight for being corroded or loose connections. beyond that it may be a bad new headlight see if they are in all the way first and check ground on headlights.
