I have the SUV listed above with a 4l60e. I'm having a harsh reverse to drive and 1-2 shifts. Has a code p0961. Changed pressure control solenoid and didn't help. Is there anything I can test further relating to this code?

Hi,

As far as this code being set, it could simply be related to a low voltage issue. Is the voltage supply (battery/alternator) in good condition and working properly? Here is a link that explains how to test an alternator. Do this just so we can confirm this isn't an issue.

Next, when you replaced the solenoid, did you inspect the wiring and connectors for evidence of damage, corrosion, or even a pin pushed or bent preventing good contact?

I attached an explanation and the diagnostics below related to the code. Take a look through them and let me know if it is something you are comfortable performing. Also, you will need a scan tool that can communicate with the modules involved.

Let me know.

Take care,
Joe
