My truck is hard to start, it takes several attempts to get it started.
It will crank but not start, after several tries it does start and then runs rough for about a minute then smooths out and runs fine.

On this vehicle I suspect we have an issue with the fuel pump/pressure.

Let's check the pressure when this is happening and we can go from there.

Below is the process from the manual on how to replace the pump if this proves out to be the issue. Let us know what you find. Thanks

Kasekenny1, i have installed a new fuel pump, and it is still the same.
I have put new plugs, wires and coil pack. i have also replaced the purge valve and the EGR control solenoid.

Okay. That is good but let's check the fuel pressure anyway because it could be other things then the pump itself.

Also, try doing a clear flood start. Hold the accelerator to the floor and try to start the engine. This may be a leaking injector causing a rich condition until it clears up.

If this is the case then the fuel pressure will show correct when the key is turned on and then the pressure will bleed off quickly.

If there is too much fuel then it will crank until it clears the cylinders of fuel and then the mixture will be able to ignite and start the truck.
