Hands Free Link (HFL) no response?

Hi,

Do any of the steering wheel controls function? Does the airbag light stay on?

I'm asking because there is what is called a clock spring (Honda calls it a cable reel in the steering column that may have failed. It is what connects the switches in the steering wheel with the stationary portion of the column. Without it, you would have wires that would get broken from turning.

I attached a pic below of the component I'm referring to. The highlighted wire is the sub-harness to it from the steering wheel.
