Hi, I would like to replace the handbrake shoes, but a wheel stabilizer arm prevents me from removing the brake caliper bracket, the key just won't fit. My question is, do I have to disassemble the stabilizer bracket and the shock absorber? Or is there another system that I don't know about?
I would like to disassemble the caliper bracket, but I can't. Looking forward to your advice, thank you very much.

Hello,

Good videos on how to on these are on 4WD:

Parking brake shoe replacement:

If your vehicle is a 2WD you will need to remove the rear shock absorber and rear upper arm first.

The rear shock absorber has one lower bolt and 2 upper bolts holding it in.
The upper arm has 1 bolt and nut on the wheel side and 1 large bolt holding it to the rear subframe.

See image 1+2 below for the upper arm
See image 3+4 for the rear shock absorber

The inner, big bolt, of the upper arm needs to be tightened to a specific torque.
Tightening torque:
2WD
137.3 ~ 156.9N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7lb-ft)

Cheers, Boris
