Where is the right front cowl ground stud/panel located?

Hi,

I'm looking at the wiring schematic. It shows the ground for the fuel level gauge to be located behind the left kick panel. See pic 1 below.

The schematic indicates the ground to be G200.

Hi,

The ground for the rheostat itself is with the fuel pump. The body control module receives a fuel level sensor signal by supplying power to the rheostat which functions as a resister.

Does the fuel gauge do anything? I'm not sure what you are experiencing.

If you haven't already, we need to run the cluster through a self-test mode.

Follow the directions in pic 2. Once you determine if there is a code, follow the diagnostics in the remaining pics.

The problem that I have is that the Body Control Module was not sending the fuel sensor information to the monitors and so my van wouldn't pass a smog test. There was a fault in the BCM, and I had it repaired but wanted to be sure that there was a proper ground for the fuel level sensor as that was where the problem was. I was trying to locate the ground for the sensor to check to make sure it was making a solid connection. The help you provided was exactly the information I needed and the fact that you took the time to highlight what I was asking about I consider going above and beyond. Thank you so much.
