Grinding engine noise

Had a oil leak through the dipstick, loss of power, timing issue (gears hanging too long) vibration in engine and grinding engine noise that is getting worse. The noise seems more excessive when I turn right. Took it to a couple of workshops that replaced breather seal box and was advised it was piston rings (no smoke in engine or exhaust). Was told its a clogged exhaust (replaced the exhaust with silencer). Took it to a fourth workshop and was told it was sump compression caused by a retarded solenoid, which caused VVT valves to be retarded as well and engine vibration was due to an engine mounting that gave in. Diagnostic fault codes pointed to camshaft. I replaced the solenoid and engine mounting as workshop does not have the tools to fix VVT valve. The timing issue seem to have been resolved. Grinding engine noise is now ten times worse and so is vibration in engine. Before I take it to the next workshop I would like a professional opinion as it seems as we are going by process of elimination and my car sounds worse every time. I have already spent a ridiculous amount of money on trying to get it fixed. Hopefully you can help!
