My hood feels grainy after repairing a rusted dent after cleaning the rust, applying bondo, primer, paint, and 2k clear coat. Doesn't feel smooth like the rest of the vehicle. What can I do to smooth it out. Its been a week so far.

Okay, thanks.

The color is off a shade or 2.

The clear coat is your issue. It could be the gun you are using, the amount of pressure delivering the clear coat or there is dirt in the gun, tip or in the base coat paint.

Looks like you need to start from scratch and strip off the clear coat, repaint the base with the correct shade and re apply the clear coat.

how can I avoid all that? Can I just sand it down with 2000 grit sandpaper and then apply rubbing compound and polish it?

You cannot sand down clear coat. It will destroy it.

You can try it. If it does not work, it does not matter as you have to start all over again.

Also, you cannot compound clear coat either.

Again, you cannot.

You need to strip it down and start over.
