Got car back from transmission shop brakes do not work

We got our car back from the transmission shop after a rebuild. The transmission is still stuck in third and the brakes are soft. They worked perfectly before.

You ought to get back to the transmission shop to have them look at both problems. They have to get the transmission rectified but as to the brakes, it could be coincidence that it has failed after sitting in the shop for a while. This would have to be looked into to see what caused it, whether it is something failing or during the process of transmission repairs they had tampered with the brakes.
