Hello, I recently noticed the check engine light on my vehicle decided to go check it out at AutoZone and got error code P2270 indicates the bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor did not switch from lean to rich for a predetermined period of time.

What steps should I take to solve this problem?

Thank you

Hello,

You are correct on the Direct Trouble Code. It does state the downstream O2 Sensor for bank 1 is biased lean. I would recommend replacing the O2 Sensor. It is fairly easy to poison an O2 Sensor, and they do wear out with age, as does everything on this earth. The only other suggestion that I would have is to check upstream of the O2 location to see if there is a substantial exhaust leak letting air into the exhaust, that could cause a stuck in lean reading, but I would say to replace the O2 sensor. Get back to us and let us know what you find out please.

Thanks,
Alex
