Grinding noise when I make a right hand turn

GMC 1999 Suburban with 102,000 miles. When I make a right hand turn, a grinding, thumping noise starts to occur. It continues even when I straighten the wheel. When I brake to stop the vehicle, it will stop. However, when I release the brake to start moving forward again, it will continue the same noise. Any ideas?? Thanks
