oil pressure gauge has gotten very low almost in red

youll have to take and use a oil pressure check guage and attatch it to the oil pressure sending unit gallery and monitor the pressure, shoudl be 10 psi per 1000 rpms at least.

also hows the oil level look? what type of oil, and whats the temp? does it go up with a warm engien or down?
