My GMC Yukon will not crank unless i put the gear in neutral and then crank it. and if i put it back in park it wont come out of park with out shutting the engine off and starting the entire cranking sequence over which means i gotta put it back in neutral and then crank the truck up. What is wrong with my ignition and transmission.

this is caused by a faulty Neutral / Park Safety Position Switch. It is not a tranny or ignition fault, just a bad safety switch.

bluelightnin6 thanks for the response. Would you by chance happen to know where this switch is located on one of these trucks?
