I just put a new motor in this truck, with a RV Cam. Runs, but timing is off. My mechanic friend is having trouble getting it right on timing. Exactly how do you set the timing on a 1998 GMC 2500 4X4 Vortect 350?

You need to get the specs for that specific engine. You can't just assume you can time it the same as the stock engine. Cam timing could be different, and that can affect the ignition timing. You may have to use a light and do total timing at say 3500 or 4000 RPMs.
