I cranked my truck on thursday to go to work and the volt meter registered 9.5. So I checked the battery experation date and it was 2 months past it good date, so I bought a new one. Still have problem. So I exchange the altenator. Volt meter go up to 13 volts. Leave work to go home and meter drops to 11. Normal for my truck. Crank up truck sunday and volt meter reads 9.5. Exchange altenator for another one this time with an upgrade still 9.5. Put another battery with full charge in and volt meter reads 12 volts. Why would a new altenator kill a new battery. Altenator checks good in store but every time it is checked in truck it shows bad until the last battery was put in with the upgrade in the altenator.
