1997 GMC Suburban brake light stays on allways

I just had my fuel pump replaced and now my brake light will not go out. How are they related and how do I troubleshoot this

First, check the switch at the top of the brake pedal to make sure it isn't stuck or out of adjustment. The only other suggestion is to check for pinched wires around the tank. The fuel pump and brake lights run from different circuits.
