Dear Sirs: I've recently tried to replace the damaged cv boot with an aftermarket quick replacement boot made by a company named Dorman of Colmer PA. the boot is split and is held on with the normal steel bands but the split is designed to be glued together. I couldn't get the glue to adhere properly and gave up.After I had purchased the product and seen the boot was to be glued and I was not comfortable with it do to possible failure from time and weather. Are you familiar with this type of boot and what problems do you know of with them. Also would it be easier just to replace the axle with the new boots in place at a reasonable cost of $70.00?

some people use those things with nno problem. the trouble is that there is grease in the joint and has to be replaced or the joint will fail. It is much better to replace the whole axle as they are cheap enough and not that much harder to replace. Besides they have been rebuilt and come with a gauarntee of so long a time usually
