1992 GMC Sonoma Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 85000 miles

I have replaced the spark plugs and wires. Put on a new distrubutor cap..and my truck is acting no different then before...I will start it then it sputters then dies...sometimes it will re-start and sometimes it will not..Could it be my fuel pump or fuel filter.?????
