2008 GMC Sierra Serpentine Belt Squeal

I bought a new 2008 GMC Sierra Z71 with the 5.3 litre V8 back in the latter part of October 2007. I had the truck a week and the serpentine belt started to squel underneath the hood. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and they put some belt dressing on to fix the problem and it went away for about 2 weeks then came back again. So I took it back to the dealer again and they replaced the tensioner and belt. It cured the problem for about 1 week or so. Now it sounds like an old airconditioner that is about to blow up on a roof top of an old building. The noise was so loud last night at the drive through that the girl could barely hear me. This is unacceptable for a 32 grand truck and embarrassing. I had a 2004 Chevy Colorado with the 3.5 litre engine this same thing happened also. I do have a heavy foot but this vehicle should be able to withstand that. The vehicle is only driven about 2 days a week also. Please help. Thanks.

its sunday night i think i remember a bulletin for this complaint. check back monday in the morning and ill have researched it for you by then. we will find the problem. if you dont get a response from me by early in am, message me. tim

i looked it up and only found 1 bulletin for anything closely related to your problem. #06-02-32-010a. it is for a high pitch noise from the steering gear. this bulletin states the engineers are trying to correct this but as of now have no repair. but it sounds like your problem should be a little more obvious to find. must be a bearing squeaking. the first obvious place to look is the alternator bearings. on earlier years there was a problem with the power steering pump pulley not being pressed on far enough causing premature belt squeal, but yours seems too new. i wish i could be of more assistance. unfortunately you will have to return to the dealer and calmly explain your situation. remember you get more flies with honey.
