2004 GMC Sierra all driver door controls do not work

Welcome to the forum, thanks for the donation. In the left instrument fuse panel should be left door circuit breaker, use a testlite, see if circuit is hot? Should be hot all the time. Make sure battery has full charge and connections are good.

2) NO GO. Continuity on circuit breaker,and power to the recepticle.

NO GO......continuity across circuirt breaker and plug is hot. (R-door works fine)

Check the orange wire, where it goes into the driver door. Use a testlite on that wire. Hinge side of door, there may be a rubber boot that covers the wires, sometimes you can move the rubber back far enough to access wires. You may need to use your own judgement on the boot, I can't see it from here.

Have trouble codes checked, all codes, including manufacturer specfic, maybe that will point to something not inside your driver door. If the orange wire is hot, my next step is to pull the driver door panel and get at the module, unless a code points in a different direction?

Orange wire is HOT. Going to a dealer to get a trouble code check is considerably more costly than paying you for answers :) .
The window opened, by itself, during the weekend, control panel was inoperable. Now it's working l this morning,locks,windows.mirror and radio stays on 'til door is opened, but I hesitate to put it back together.
Intermittent problems are the worst.

So, you worked the window up and down without using the control panel? Around here, some of national brand autostores will check some codes for free. I'm not sure if they can check for all codes? Right now, it looks like a faulty driver door module. Yeah, intermittent stuff can be a pain to track down.

Have you ever incurred an intermittent circuit breaker?
At this point I to am thinking it's the control module in the door.
Did not know that auto parts stores would test for trouble codes.

About all I could do now, is check the circuits at the driver door module?

I know this is reviving an old thread, but I got my answer and wanted to reply. I recently bought a 2004 gmc Sierra used (same controls as silverado) and no power to left door. I tested the orange hot, and it was hot. I called dealership and they said drivers door module from sounds of it. I ordered a used unit from lkq and received it. Took to dealership a buddy owns and had them program the bcm and new door module. It wouldn't program.
Long story short, as he was flashing the bcm he had an error. Troubleshot the issue and found a pinched/broken ground in the door boot from the dash fuse panel to the door. After he ran a new wire and jumped it to the old connector, everything worked. All controls worked in the door. So add that to your checklist if you haven't yet. Good luck!
