2002 GMC Sierra Adjusting the parking brake shoes

I am replacing the rear brakes on a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup and I need to adjstu the parking brake shoes. Is there a trick to turning the star adjuster wheel?>

there's no trick, just make sure the plug is out on the backing plate and either use the brake adjusting tool or you can do it with a screwdriver as well but not as easy.
