I'm currently having a problem removing the battery in my '99 GMC Sierra. I've disconnected the cables and all that, but I can't seem to find what's holding the battery in place. Down in the front there's a bolt that appears it might be holding down the battery, but for the life of my I can't fit a socket/combo wrench down in there to loosen it, the space is just too small. Am I overlooking something?

congratulations you found the right bolt, you will need a 13mm or 14mm socket ( I can't remember which one) with a 6 inch extension, or there is no way of getting the battery out it is called the battery hold down bolt, better go to your neighbors and see if they have some tools.
