1997 GMC Sierra V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Where is the bank 1 oxygen sensor 1 located on the 5.7L Vortec engine ? How do you replace the sensor? What size tools do you need?

it should be on the left side infront of the converter. both sides are the same, just not pre and post which would be called position 2. you just unplug the sensor and get a wrench and unscrew it. make sure the new one has anti-sieze on the threads. there is a special tool for it but a lot of times you can get it out with a box end or open end wrench.
