1989 GMC Sierra Not sure what to do and i need help.

I have just changed the cap and rotor all the plugs and wires and even visually looked at my timing chain(someone suggested it could be broke). upon doing this i have not been able to start the vehical. I also have changed the alternater and starter within the last month and have had no problems up to now. Thanks in advanced for the assistance.
