1989 GMC Safari headlights

i have an 89 gmc safari. i noticed about a week ago that while driving at night i'd turn the high beams on and the lights would completely go out. i changed the headlights and still nothing my day driving lights blinkers work fine but the high beam signal in the dash doesnt work niether please help
