My 700R4 transmission is "locked" and will stall the engine when braking and coming to a complete stop. No check engine light or fault codes of any kind. The problem persists even if the TCC connector is unplugged from the transmission. I have also already replaced the TCC solenoid to no avail. Flowing the GM diagnostic flow chart I have, it seems to point to the 4th gear switch. The switch seems to be working however. If I back-pobe the ECM, I have 12v normal, and 0v when in fourth gear. Is it even possible a bad 4th gear switch could keep the torque converter "locked?" Is it possible the torque converter itself is bad? When changing the TCC solenoid I did not notice any large metal shavings in the pan, however should I be concerned that the transmission is damaged?
