Hi. I have a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville.
There is a whining noise when I make a turn (right or left) and accelerating (pressing the gas pedal). This noise sounds similar to noise in low gear from a car with a bad gearbox in the old days.

If I turn but let the car coast, or when I am braking, then there is no noise.

Does anyone know what the problem is and if it should be fixed immediately?
Thanks a lot.

CV joint? But hard to believe it would go bad on 2002 unless you have high miles or a broken CV boot to let dirt and water in.
