Yes I have a 1988 Pontiac Booneville, V-6 3.8L, When ever I either turn my headlight's or even the marker light's on. The speedometer stop's working and the coolant temp gauge red-lines. But as soon as I turn the headlight switch off everything works fine. I checked the fuses and there all OK. What should I check next?

[quote:1917eb770a="lsussel"]So I gather your saying when you start your car and drive it the gauge works fine?[/quote:1917eb770a] Hey I figured it out today, It was a ground-wire by the battery I fond it was unplugged, I plugged it in to a plug that was right besiide it. check my instrument panel my temp gauge was working so I took it for a drive when I got up to 35mph I turned my light's on and everything keeped working just fine. My temp gauge is no-longer red-lining and the speeometer is working. "So it was that ground wire the whole time" I'll keep this site in mind though for future help. Thanx.
