I have an 88 GMC with the V6 4.3L 262. I need to put new spark plug wires, plugs, dis cap and rotor. My question is that they come factory at 35, I was told they should be at 45? should I change them to 45? I am using the platinum ones of course. My other question is that I am replacing the valve covers and was wondering if there is a trick to getting those things off. I took the air cleaners system off and still couldn't get the right side off. looks like the alternator bracket is in the way. what about the left side. lots of tubes and stuff covering them. what's the best way to get those things off without taking the whole engine apart.
thanks for your time.
