position for vss install.

Hi, I replaced my vss on a '91 Lumina Euro because the speedometer has been off by as many as 20 miles an hour. Is there a set point for the vertical shaft? Speed reading still not right. Cluster has tested o.k

Did you replace the gear also?. They are color rcoded for gear ratios. As long as the VSS fits in the hole and you can bolt it down without force it is in correct. Good luck
