i have a 1989 olds 88 and recently i have noticed that while driving the car feels like it is missing or that the car hesitates or stutters going up a hill or when you put on the gas...I have new sparkplug wires and spark plugs-the gas has normal pressure but everyone keeps telling me that it is my tps and after running a code check and nothing came up i tried to reset the tps without a meter and it is still doing the same thing. how can i set it without a meter because i do not know how many rpms my car is supposed to run at....it also has a new map sensor so please tell me how i can stop the problems

Try this. Unplug your battery for a few hours if you can. Just leave it. This will clear your computor of any stored codes. When you restart you car after a few hours let it run for 10 minutes of idle and then take it for a test drive. This will reprogram your computor to now accept a new electrical part that is monitored by the computor.
Did you by any chance wash your engine with solvent recently? These solvent cleaners are very harmful to sensitive electrical parts. If it gets into the connections they can damage the part quite easily. The TPS is typically mounted on the passenger side of a throttle body/ carbuator.
