gas tank pressure

i have a 1988 buick century when i take off the gas cap i hear air rushing out also can that cause my car to stall i just put in a new fuel pump too im wondering if somthing was done wrong thanks

I have a 97 firebird and my gas tank does the same thing its because my gas tank is pressurized thats why it says to turn it till it clicks 3 times so it can pressurize.
