I replaced the front disk brakes on my 1999 Pontiac Montana. I tried to replace the rubber boots that protect the caliper pins. The have a solid metallic cylindrical base that appear to be a press fit into the caliper mounting bracket. The old boots came off with some delicate prying, but I can't get the new ones to seat properly. I have tried tu use a clamp and a piece of wood, but the compliance of the rubber seems to cause problems. Am I missing an obvious solution?
