Smells problem
2005 Other GMC Models Four Wheel Drive Automatic 36000 miles

I'm getting a mildew smell from the air conditioning, so i assume the cabin air filter needs replacement. Where is the cabin air filter located on a 2005 5 cylinder GMC Canyon 4-wheel drive crew cab pickup, and is it easy enough for a novice to replace? Can anyone recommend a place where I can just get the cabin air filter, so I can replace it myself? Thanks!

I can't find a listing for a cabin filter for your truck in my software. Are you sure it has one? most GM ones are behind the glove box or accessed from under the dash on the passenger side.

Correct. This vehicle does not have a cabin air filter however, GMC was aware of this so they have a couple different procedures to address the odor issue. I attached them. First is a TSB and the last page is the service manual process for eliminating odor.

Please let us know if there are questions. Thanks
