I just replaced pinion seal on the front diffential. In the process I drained the old oil and added new stuff. Today, I took it for its maiden voyage and when you put it in 4x4 (pushbutton) it grinds on the front driver side and it gradually goed away when you take it out of 4x4. This was not a problem before I replaced the seal. Did I screw up or is it a coinsidence?

thanks for your time

Hi:
It sounds like the auto hub isn't working. You may want to have it checked by a mechanic if you arn't comfortable removing the assembly. If you only replaced the seal, most likely you did nothing to cause the problem.
