2001 GMC Jimmy wiper arm removal

How do you remove the drivers side wiper arm . It appears it backed off the gear assembly and needs to be tighted up i know how to do it but how does the cover come off to get to it .I do not want to pry to hard and anything.

Cover pries up and there is a nut under it. Sometimes you need to rock the plastic a bit to get it loose. If the nut backed off I usually take the arm off, clean the splines with a pick and reinstall the nut. To keep it from coming loose again a drop of loctite or install a thin lockwasher and then a drop of nail polish to lock it in place.
