2001 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Vehicle starts fine but only runs a few seconds and shuts off. Fuses and relays are all good. No security light.

Try relearning the Pass-lock system.If this doesnt work it may have an issue with the key chip, wiring at the chip reader (in the column). Make sure there are no other magnets on your key ring as well

You will need to let the system relearn.This can be done without a scan tool ,but if it doesnt work it may need to go to a shop that has the software to force it to relearn
1- Turn key to RUN position, try to start and let key return to ON position
2-After approx. 10 minutes the security light should turn off
3-Turn ignition to OFF position and wait 5 secpnds
4-Repeat steps 1-4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles equaling 30 minutes
5- Start engine
