Hi, 2000 4.3 l jimmy, lately when driving in winter, the rpms hang around 1500 rpm, and while trying to slow down they stay up there pushing the jimmy forward. If I also shift into neutral while driving, they stay up at 1500 and while coasting if I press the gas, they goupto say 2300 and stay there , untill I actually come to a stop , at that moment they drop back down to 700. When I pull it into drive they jump back up. After it warms up all goes normal. Also noticed that the other nite at -20 C out it stayed that way two hrs. Seems to be somehow temp related and also if you are in gear and moving ???
