My 1998 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3L blew head gaskets. We ordered remanufactured heads, because we found cracks in each head. We replaced bearings, put in a new oil pump, replaced rings, put on new gaskets and changed the heads. Now it starts perfectly and purrs like a kitten, but, when we drive it we get about 10 miles and it dies, sounds like the compression is gone. we checked compression on each cylinder and each one is running about 170-180. It is not overheating and there are no warning signs it just gets sluggish and then its done. Any ideas?

get the engine scanned for codes. YOu might have a crank sensor gone bad when it gets hot. A pro should be able to give you a quicker diagnosis.
