Help. I have a 1995 GMC Jimmy. The release cable for my hood has broken and I am unable to open my hood. I bought a repair manual but it doesn't help. How can I open my hood?

Hi, was it the plastic handle that broke? Is the steel cable there, sometimes you can grab the cable with a pair of vice-grips and open the hood. If the cable itself is broke, I'd remove the grill, see if I could reach the latch mechanism.
