1995 GMC Jimmy 6 cyl 124000 miles

Why is there antifreeze in the EGR valve? I was told that the head gasket is leaking...could that be the problem?

Hello,

Most likely it is a blown Intake Gasket.

Well, The top of the engine has to come off and most of the front of the engine. So, it could run as much as $1,000. Maybe more depending on labe rate in your area.

When you are driving there is a sound coming from the rear end which sounds similiar to a wheel bearing that is getting worn. I was told that it is a normal sound that goes with Hyundais....is that true or am I being fed a crock? The car has been "certified" but has this problem been addressed when they checked it over?

Yes, This is a common problem if the engine has over heated And / Or GM does have a defect with the Design or Manufactured Assembly placement of Intake Gasket Sealant on the corner or one side.
You may have a local repair shop look up this manufacturer suggested corrective action concerning this Intake Gasket !
It is a Medium Big job !
