i need some kind of instructions on how to set the timing on my truck it is a 92 gmc jimmy with a 4.3 litre vortech v-6

No real timing to set. You install the distributor so that it is on number one when the piston is at 0 TDC on compression. Then you disconnect the timing control wire (Tan with black stripe) that you will find in the wiring harness near the distributor. Start the engine and verify the timing is at 0 degrees at idle. If needed you can adjust it, Lock down the distributor. Reconnect the wire and clear any trouble codes.
