1985 GMC Jimmy emergency brakes

The brake cable shouldn't get caught on anything unless you have changed something. AS far as rerouting, we recommend staying with how the manufacturer designed it to be.

sorry i guess i should of included that i took the stock 10 bolt out and installed a 14 bolt. the cable on the 14 bolt is longer then the 10 bolt.

OK, now I understand your concern. However, because it's not OEM, I can't picture it. Is the anyway for you to up load a picture so I can tell what is going on?

ok theres two cables for each drum they meet up to make a single connection about a foot in front of the left rear tire, then that cable runs to another connection that is located on the inside of the frame (on the left side of truck) right under where the driver seat is located. then another cable runs from that connection to the e-brake pedal.
im pretty sure you already new that. now from the two connection i have an extra two feet so picture a big loop in the middle of the two connection. right now i have the cable zip tied to the frame.

I clicked on your link, but all it does is take me to an email. I think I can picture what you are saying. The only thing I can think of is (and this is hard to explain) if you look under a early 90's dakota truck, you will find an adjuster. It fits through an opening on the frame and is threaded on the opposite side of the frame. THere is a slide on it that the cable rides on and you adjust e-brake by tightening it. Maybe if you were to get 2 or those, one for each side, you may be able to take up the slack.

i'll take a look on one i figure im going to need to fab something all the article i read about swapping a 14 bolt over does not say anything about the e-brake. with that myspace thing you a myspace account and then you would need to type in my name under people search.
